Web design in Ayrshire, from a designer based in Ayr
GreenOrb Web Design builds websites for small and medium-sized businesses across Ayrshire. We’re based in Ayr, and we’ve been making websites since 2008.
We work with businesses in Ayr, Prestwick, Troon, Kilmarnock, Irvine, Girvan and the towns in between, and with clients elsewhere in the UK.
What we build
Websites for local businesses
Most businesses need a site that explains what they do, shows their work and makes it easy to get in touch. We build on WordPress with the Divi theme. Once the site is live, we show you how to change the text and photos yourself.
Online shops
We build shops with WooCommerce: product pages, a secure checkout and payments. Swim Spas Scotland sells its chemicals, filters and accessories online through a site we built.
Redesigns
If your site looks dated or is hard to update, we can rebuild it. We take a full backup of the old site before anything changes.
Search engine set-up
Every site gets page titles and descriptions, clear headings, image descriptions and an XML sitemap submitted to Google. The details are on our Online SEO Strategy page.
Looking after it afterwards
For the first 30 days after launch, we deal with any problems that come up. After that, ongoing management is a monthly service covering WordPress and plugin updates, security fixes, backups and content changes.
“I would like to say thank you very much for your attention and excellent service throughout the process, I will highly recommend you to anyone I meet who requires help and advice or web design in the future.”
Steve, Ductbrite Ventilation Services
Why choose a web designer in Ayrshire?
You can meet us. The first meeting can be face to face or on a video call, whichever suits you. After that you deal directly with Phillip, who builds the site, by phone or email, Monday to Friday, 10am to 5pm.
How a project runs
Every project follows the same six steps, and you’re involved at each one.
- Discovery and requirements: a first meeting and a questionnaire about your business, customers and goals.
- Design and planning: a sitemap, wireframes and mock-ups for you to review before building starts.
- Online SEO strategy: keyword research and the on-page set-up.
- Development: building the site on WordPress so it works on phones, tablets and desktops.
- Testing and quality assurance: forms, links, speed and screen sizes checked before launch.
- Deployment and launch: a backup of any old site, the move to the live server, then training on how to update your new one.
Recent work
- Ductbrite Ventilation Services: a site for a ventilation cleaning firm, covering its services and TR19 compliance.
- Checkmate Production: a portfolio site for an Ayrshire videographer and photographer, with YouTube films, event photography and a project grid that loads as you scroll.
- Swim Spas Scotland: product pages for Endless Pools and Fastlane swim spas, plus online sales of chemicals, filters and accessories.
- Harry Edgar, singer-songwriter: a one-page site that brings his music, videos and gig news together.
There’s more in the portfolio.
“Phillip always responds quickly to any requests and endeavours to provide us with tailor made solutions at a very competitive rate.”
Ewan, THM Garden Drainage
Common questions
How much does a website cost?
It depends on how many pages you need and what the site has to do. A shop costs more than a site that describes your services. You get a clear cost at the start, before any work begins.
Can I update the website myself?
Yes. Sites are built on WordPress, and training on updating text, images and products is part of the launch.
Can you rebuild my existing website?
Yes. We back up the old site first, then rebuild it or improve what’s there.
Do you only work with Ayrshire businesses?
No. We’re based in Ayr and work with businesses across the UK.
Who looks after the site once it’s live?
You can look after it yourself, or we can do it for a monthly fee through ongoing management.
